No One Should Ever Go Hungry

Mar 28, 2019

The numbers are sobering - one in ten working adults in America struggles against hunger and one in six children live in food insecure households.

As the numbers indicate, there’s a hunger crisis in America – and more than likely, it's happening in our community, both seen and unseen. But the real story is about those we serve. From meal programs to food pantries, The Salvation Army helps ensure that the most vulnerable members of society do not go hungry.

We know that many of the working poor we serve are only one medical bill or an expensive car repair away from being unable to provide food for themselves and their families in any given month. We also know that our mission – our reason for being – is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. We send food home with kids each day in special backpacks in some areas of our division and deliver food boxes to seniors in others – because we believe that no one should ever go hungry.

Nationwide Hunger Campaign

We've been working nationwide on this issue and right now, a campaign is underway to help make sure that help is always available for those who are hungry. When you donate to this campaign, your donations will be used to support work in your local area (nearest your zip code). Please join us in this vitally important work. We thank you for your support.
